The end of the road for Westlife

Famous boy band Westlife has announced that they are intending to “take a well-earned break” after 14 years of good music making. Westlife was established in 1998, and became famous after its “Coast to Coast” album went viral.

They will bow out with a farewell tour in May 2012, playing nine gigs in most major cities in the UK.

In a statement, Westlife said: “Today we announce our plan to go our separate ways after a greatest hits collection this Christmas and a farewell tour next year.

This is really quite a sad piece of news for me, given that Westlife was the first band that I actually listened to properly. I remember my favourite song being Coast to Coast’s My Love (and it still is until today). Can’t remember who introduced me to this song on 1st January 2000, but whoever it is, thank you. Hahaha.

So till they release their last album and go on their farewell tour in 2012, here’s to Westlife for 14 years of awesome music. Shall end off with my favourite song of all time.
